Bryan Cranston Says Get A Job

At a certain point last year, Bryan Cranston was snagging so many acting jobs that we began to worry that this site would end up becoming the Bryan Cranston Fan Zone. Well, Crantastic news, Cran Fans (Crans? It could catch on!) as he’s back on the market for more work and has just scooped up a part in multi-generational comedy Get A Job.

Cranston is just one among a healthy comic ensemble including Anna Kendrick, Miles Teller, Nick Braun, Alison Brie, Brandon T. Jackson, Jay Pharoah and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

They’ll all star in the story of four recent college graduates who have been burped back out into the real world only to find that adulthood doesn’t quite match up with their expectations.

Teller is playing Will Davies, who finally finds his real calling after slogging through an entry-level job. He’s also dating Jillian (Kendrick), a type-A personality who lives according to a strict plan. His dad Roger (Cranston) is stuck hunting for a new job at the same time as his son is having his employment epiphany.

Braun, Brandon and Mintz-Plasse will be Will’s mates, who all find odd careers, with Brie as a co-worker and Pharoah putting some of his SNL comic chops to use as Skeezy D, who comes up with a recession-proof business. We’re guessing porn, but let's wait and see if it's something a little more original.

Roger Dodger director Dylan Kidd is behind the film, working from a script by Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel. “We are making an emotionally honest comedy about the challenges that every generation faces in our rapidly changing world. We have assembled an extraordinary cast to make that happen,” Kidd says in the press release. He’ll start making it on Monday.
