Counting them all up, it looks like we've got three full trailers for **Cars 2 **now. Each one has shown more and more of the worldwide setting, Michael Caine's spy car Finn McMissille, and now, with this one, much more of the racing and the plot.
As you'll see below, it actually explains the premise to the sequel properly now. Instead of just showing you clips of things exploding and someone falling into a sewage truck, it gives you things exploding, someone falling into a sewage truck and a plot.
It seems that alongside Lightning's role in the Grand Prix, Mater has been mistaken by British Intelligence as some kind of American master spy, 'cleverly' making out like he's some dumb hick in order to fool his enemies.
Mater eventually catches wind of this, and appears to have an exitential crisis, just the way many of your favourite kiddy movie characters do.
There's also some highly generalised national stereotyping (Did you know that Italians say "Ciao" a lot?) but that doesn't much matter... it's a Pixar movie, and the kids are going to love it, aren't they?
Cars 2 is out on July 22 in the UK, and June 24 in the USA.
