Blake Lively might be turning into – wait for it – Blake Dead-ly with news that she’s in talks to join Jaume Collet-Serra’s shark tale, In The Deep.

According to The Wrap, the actress will be stepping into the lead role as a swimmer who’s trapped 20 yards from the shore with the voracious, and highly toothy, fish between her and terra firma. Expect her not to make like Aussie surfer Mick Fanning and nonchalantly punch it in the nibblers. The high-concept Tony Jaswinski script promises to sit at the intersection of **127 Hours **and Jaws.

Jaswinski’s script sparked a lot of interest from the studios last autumn before Sony picked it up. The fictional tale finds a surfer (Lively) attacked by a shark at a lonely sea spot and left bleeding and marooned on a buoy in the ocean. Her main problem, besides the blood loss? The hungry creature is still gliding through the water around her, cutting her off from help.

Lively, fresh from the widely panned The Age Of Adaline, is next up co-starring with Jason Clarke in All I See Is You and has a spot scored in Woody Allen’s (obviously still untitled) next movie.
