If you follow our Twitter feed (and if you don't, why the hell not?), you may have noticed yesterday that we had just seen Attack The Block, the debut movie from Joe Cornish off of the telly/radio. And we loved the hell out of it.

You'll have to wait a while for the official Empire review, but you won't have to wait to get a taste of what made us go ga-ga. For today we can unveil the world exclusive trailer for the film, in which a gang of inner city hoodies discover their heroic sides as they fight to repel an invasion of nasty alien space bastards.

Just click play to get a sense of the film's slick visuals, its excellent action sequences and the switchblade-sharp interplay between the five newcomers who play the hooded heroes: John Boyega, Simon Howard, Franz Drameh, Leeon Jones, and Alex Esmail.

You also get a glimpse at the other major players in the film, from Jodie Whittaker to Luke Treadaway and a cameo from Nick Frost as Ron, a drug dealer of the gang's acquaintance. Oh, and if you freeze frame, you'll get a nice look at the unique appearance of the aliens attacking the block.

The movie opens on May 11, but it'll be worth the wait for a movie that could well be the new Shaun Of The Dead, and will be one of the most quotable films of the summer. Trust.
