Antonio Banderas Experiences Big Bang

Antonio Banderas has been a little quiet of late, with quite a few films in development but nothing hitting UK screens. But he's adding another title to his list, and this one sounds interesting: it's called The Big Bang, and it's a neo-detective story to be directed by Tony Krantz.

The film sees Banderas play an LA detective hired to find a missing stripper. He follows the trailer out into the New Mexico desert, where he discovers a trail of bodies, a belligerent Russian boxer, three LAPD detectives and a billionaire who's trying to uncover the secrets of the big bang (we're saying he dunnit. If in doubt, blame the billionaire).

The script was written by Band of Brothers' Erik Jendresen, and is set to be directed by longtime producer and former agent Tony Krantz. He's only directed straight-to-DVD films before, but having worked on Mulholland Drive and 24, let's hope he's picked up some tips.

In the meantime, Banderas has just finished working with Woody Allen on his film for next year, is filming the title role in Dali, and is due back on voice duties as Puss in Boots for Shrek Goes Fourth.
