London's Leicester Square is often to be found covered in sticky goo, but that's usually on a Sunday morning following a heavy Saturday night. Things were rather more fragrant and generally pleasant last night when it played host to the UK premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man, with the stars in attendance.

The superhero reboot sees Andrew Garfield don the spandex as Peter Parker, the teenager bit by an arachnid and imbued with special abilities. Emma Stone's the classmate / science intern / police chief's daughter who catches his eye, and Rhys Ifans plays Dr Curt Connors, a scientist who used to work with Parker's long-deceased father.
