Alec Baldwin In My Sister's Keeper

Alec Baldwin is a legend. Watch any episode of 30 Rock – even better, watch them all, repeatedly – and tell us that is not one of the greatest supporting actors alive. Then we will tell you you're wrong and possibly slap you up side the head for such brazen incorrectitude. Alec Baldwin is the reason we're now looking forward to My Sister's Keeper.

He's joined Nick Cassavetes' drama about a girl (Elle Fanning) who sues her parents on the grounds that she was only conceived to help prolong the life of her cancer stricken sister (Dakota Fanning). Her mother (Cameron Diaz), a former lawyer, represents herself. See, we're looking forward to this despite the fact that it sounds a bit like 1984 Shelley Long/Drew Barrymore movie Irreconcilable Differences and stars two Fannings, who always give us the slight creeps in spite, or possibly because of, their preternatural talent. Such is the power of Baldwin.

Baldwin will also voice a character in the upcoming animation Madagascar 2, which we're now less ambivalent about.
