Bullet holes in a Union Jack. An up-turned black cab. The Gherkin. A red bus. A red telephone box. A man in a flatcap. The face of Elizabeth Tower (though let's just call it Big Ben for recognition's sake). EXPLOSIONS. Jack Bauer is in London, and it's not to take the duck tour - it's to shoot a teaser for his new appearance in 24: Live Another Day, out on U.S. TV screens in May.

The US Fox network is bringing Jack back for a “limited series” season of 12 episodes that will find the perpetually time-crunched CTU agent moved to London for a new mission. Somehow, that will involve the Prime Minister, with Stephen Fry taking that role.

The cast announced so far includes 24 alumni Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver and William Devane, plus newcomers to the show John Boyega, Giles Matthey, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Wincott, Yvonne Strahovski and Judy Davis.

The behind-the-scenes crew is also largely returning, with producers Howard Gordon and co-creator Robert Cochran and writer-producers David Fury, Evan Katz, Manny Coto alongside director Jon Cassar. As you'll have seen, the show has a May 5 airdate set in the US, but there's no official word on when it’ll hit British shores.
