You thought **21 Jump Street **was silly, but you haven't seen **22 Jump Street **yet. This one has Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in a giant American football helmet on wheels. To prove its silly credentials, here's a still of just that, as well as a new poster featuring undercover cops Morton Schmidt (Hill) and Greg Jenko (Tatum) on the top of a car, firing their guns in the air.
This time around, Jenko and Schmidt are dispatched to a local college to investigate a drugs ring. But can their partnership survive the rigours of frat life and college bonding? There isn't much development of that plotline in the trailer below, which mostly goes for the gags, but that's no bad thing.
Returning for this one is Nick Offerman’s snarky police boss, who once again gives good meta, talking about the money pumped into keeping the Jump Street “program” going. And, of course, Ice Cube’s cranky Captain Dickson returns, relocated across the road to a different abandoned church. Wonder which deity we’ll meet this time? Also back are Rob Riggle’s Mr. Walters and Dave Franco’s Eric, back for prison cameos. It’s good stuff.
With directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller once more calling the shots, 22 Jump Street is out on June 6.
