This missing person drama returns on stellar form in the second season. The perfectly cast Anthony LaPaglia heads up the FBI missing person task force, fighting against the clock to find the mysteriously disappeared. The emotional stakes for the team are higher this time round, with old grudges and injuries coming back to haunt them and new relationships developing, but such things occupy only the fringes of most episodes, which are instead focused on the unravelling of the victims lives.
The result is like the better episodes of CSI, but with human mysteries instead of chemical conundrums, and the added bonus that the disappeared sometimes return alive and unharmed.
