Tru Calling Review

Tru Calling

One time Buffyette Eliza Dushku gets a shot at her own solo show with this time-skipping whodunnit in which she plays a morgue technician who travels back in time to save those whose cadavers she’s embalming.

Dushku has a natural spunkiness that the scripts rarely exploit, keeping Tru boringly sullen and her plotlines soapy. But the pace picks up as the series progresses and Tru’s creepy/funny morgue boss gets more airtime, and less interesting characters are put on ice to make way for the now so-cheesy-he’s-genius Jason Priestley.
