All hail those noble souls who know when to call it a day, and how to go out on a high: Life On Mars has ended after just 16 quality episodes. While wrapping up inevitably means taking some of the mystery out of Sam Tylers conundrum (hes a cop, had a car accident, woke up in 1973), theres still plenty of mileage in the problems of policing that time when orange was the new brown. And kudos to the conclusion what could have been a disaster ends on a daft, yet wholly satisfying note.
