Hustle: Season 3

While the Beeb’s con-artist series might not have as much dramatic muscle as sister show Spooks, it’s made up for it with fast-paced, stylish fun. Year three finds the show at cruising speed, with a touch of stagnation setting in; these six swindles only feel on top form when the stakes are raised — the stand-out episode sees the crew, having lost everything, gamely scamming their way back into solvency. Coasting aside, Hustle still trades healthily on its greatest asset: the charm-heavy ensemble cast, notably ice-cool Adrian Lester, cheeky chancer Marc Warren and, of course, Robert Vaughn as the veteran lag.
