Green Wing: Special Review

Bringing the curtain down on one of the most divise comedies of recent years, this 90-minute episode closes things in marvelously surreal, black-humoured fashion. Opening with a funeral and climaxing with a marriage, the show flits between resolving the core love triangle between Mac, Guy and Caroline, while the boss-free HR office girls descend into Lord of The Flies-style anarchy and Staff Liason officer Sue White continues to be brilliantly bizarre.

The true comedy gold, though, comes from the hysterical misadventures of fugitives Dr. Statham and Joanna Clore, with the former almost worthy successor to Basil Fawlty. Sad to see it go, but this is a strong farewell.
