Once the rubbish pilot is out of the way, Josh ‘The OC’ Schwartz’s glossy new drama is a sparky pleasure. Spilling the goss on a privileged circle of NY teens with the help of texts and blogs from the omniscient, anonymous Gossip Girl (voiced by Veronica Mars’ Kristen Bell), it’s trashy and scathing, but with enough heart to counterbalance the rich-kid partying.
