My Big Fat Greek Life Review

My Big Fat Greek Life

It’s easy to see why this spin-off from Joel Zwick’s movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding lasted just seven episodes before the axe fell. While it does retain many of the film’s stars, including Nia Vardalos, Louis Mandylor and Lainie Kazan, it lacks the sparkle of its cinematic inspiration, meaning that the endless jokes about our heroine’s overbearing Greek family simply look tired. Vardalos is appealing enough and bags the small handful of decent lines, but quite why she seems to be playing an entirely different character (albeit with exactly the same family as she had in the film), complete with all-new husband, is something

of a mystery.
