Red Dwarf Series 4 Review

Cherish this DVD, for Red Dwarf virtually pole-vaulted the shark immediately after this fourth series. Writers Rob Grant and Doug Naylor have fun with sci-fi conventions in a number of inventive episodes, including the introduction of Chris Barrie’s Ace Rimmer (“Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be home for breakfast”), but the real jewel in the crown is Robert Llewellyn’s preening android, Kryten, who gets all the best lines and plots. Without a doubt, Red Dwarf’s greatest smegging series.
