UPDATE: A second, secret trailer was launched via fake corporate site. Because of course it was! Check that out at the bottom of the page.

The team behind_Westworld_are not exactly forthcoming with information about the storylines for the series, preferring to wrap their show in mystery and suspense. But with the third season just around the corner, HBO has premiered a trailer that does offer up a clearer look at some of the season's stories.

Chief among them is Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), who orchestrated an escape from the theme park where she an her artificial fellows had been pressed into service as fantasy objects for the humans who visited and the corporation who ran the place. Now on the loose in the real world of the future, Dolores is recruiting the human – we assume, at least, on this series that could always turn out not to be true – likes of Aaron Paul to do... Something. Suffice to say, her mission doesn't bode well for humanity.

She's joined by the likes of Tessa Thompson's Charlotte Hale in her quest, but there are those looking to stop her – with Thandie Newton's Maeve asked to hunt her down by Vincent Cassel's mystery man. We're promised future vistas, big robots and plenty of action. And the park hasn't been forgotten entirely – Jeffrey Wright's Bernard is still wrangling with the nature of his existence, while it appears we're on for a deeper dive into World War II world.

The show returns on 15 March via HBO in the US, with a simulcast that night and then a repeat on Sky Atlantic in the UK on 16 March.
