2025 is upon us, which can only mean one thing: The Last Of Us Season 2 is almost upon us. And after almost two years away from our screens, last night brought with it not only confirmation that Pedro Pascal's Joel and Bella Ramsey's Ellie will return to our screens and continue their journey through post-apocalyptic America this April, but also a fresh new teaser trailer for the second series of Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin's critically acclaimed video game adaptation. For blaring alarms, nightmare fuel Clickers, and new looks at Kaitlyn Dever, Jeffrey Wright, Isabela Merced, and more's arrivals in the HBO show, watch the new trailer below:

”It doesn’t matter if you have a code like me,” says a voice that sounds suspiciously like Dever’s Abby, a pivotal figure from Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part II, over ominous shots of sickles, flames, and our dewy-eyed heroes, “There are some things that everyone agrees are just wrong.” For those who’ve played the aforementioned TLOU sequel game, it’ll be pretty clear to what this voiceover is referring: hell, to anyone who watched *that* gut-wrenching Season 1 finale, you’ll have a pretty decent idea of the broken codes and wrong things that Season 2 is about to explore. But plot tidbits aside, this minute-long teaser — emphasis on the tease — perfectly tees up another tense, emotional round of character-driven survival horror, with Pascal and Ramsey’s unlikely father-daughter duo reckoning with decisions made last season as new threats, old foes, and — could it be? — buds of romance (hello Dina!) bloom this time out.

And here's the official synopsis for Season 2: “After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

We don’t know when exactly in April The Last Of Us’ shorter sophomore season will premiere just yet, but with more seasons already in the offing and one heck of a story still yet to tell, everything’s shaping up nicely for another unmissable series of peak apocalyptic TV. It’s gonna be emotional, folks.
