If we only could, we’d make a deal with God, and we’d get him to drop Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 right now, instead of having to wait a whole week and half to see it. Unfortunately, not even Kate Bush herself has that power, no matter how world-dominating her tune ‘Running Up That Hill’ is right now thanks to its stellar use in Volume 1. Thankfully, a new trailer has arrived to tide us over until Volume 2 arrives on 1 July, teasing the two epic, feature-length episodes still to come. Have a watch below.

Okay. Where do we begin? If you haven’t caught up with Season 4 Volume 1 yet, here’s your spoiler warning. It looks as though these final couple of eps will, as you’d expect, see the cast come together to battle big bad Vecna – though, as Dr Brenner (Matthew Modine) voices ominously (“Hawkins will fall”), it may not be enough. It looks like Nancy (Natalia Dyer) managed to escape Vecna’s spell, which is where we last saw her, but her, Robin (Maya Hawke), Steve (Joe Keery), Eddie (Joseph Quinn) and co don’t wait too long to head back to the Upside Down and face him.

Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) regained her powers at the end of Volume 1 after delving deep into some traumatic, Vecna-related events in her past, and is determined to reunite with her friends and save the day. Newly free Hopper (David Harbour), Murray (Brett Gelman) and Joyce (Winona Ryder) appear to still be in Russia, coming across some kind of swirling creature or substance they no doubt need to destroy, and fighting with more Demogorgons too. There are also hints at smaller subplots, including Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) taking a swing at jock Jason (Mason Dye), and Will (Noah Schnapp) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) sharing a heartfelt hug – could this be the aftermath of Will revealing some feelings for Mike, which has been very vaguely hinted at in the past?

There may only be two episodes left to arrive, but from the looks of this trailer, they’ll be bigger and bolder than ever. Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 is streaming on Netflix from 1 July.
