For a show called Slow Horses, production sure moves fast on Apple TV's prize spy thriller series. No sooner had the Season 4 finale of the streaming giant's take on Mick Herron's Slough House books aired than word came out that shooting's wrapped on the show's fifth season. And now today, Apple TV+ has announced that a six-episode sixth season of the Gary Oldman led, Emmy-winning show is heading our way.

Per Apple's official press release, the sixth outing for Oldman's Jackson Lamb and his band of MI5 rejects is already shaping up to be another high-stakes affair. "Season six sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge," read the series' logline, which — if nothing else — confirms to us that Kristin Scott Thomas will make it through whatever trials and tribulations await in Slow Horses' upcoming Season 5. Commenting on the show's renewal, Apple TV's European creative director Jay Hunt said, “Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I’m delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure." *Phew*! There's our confirmation Oldman will be back farting up a storm, too, in Season 6!

Having become something of a word-of-mouth sensation since its first season premiered all the way back in *checks notes* 2022 (they grow so fast!), Slow Horses has gone from strength to strength, wooing fans of the books and total newbies to Slough House alike. And with the fifth season in the can already, a sixth in the pipeline, and at least a couple more books to adapt yet, it looks like Slow Horses is galloping towards many more bountiful years of espionage and subterfuge ahead.
