Ready for more Jimmying, folks? Yes, it's a case of Shrinking by name but certainly not shrinking by nature for Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel's therapy sitcom (sadcom?), which has just landed a Season 3 renewal at the streaming giant only a day after its second season premiere on the streamer.

News of the renewal was shared with fans at a special New York Comic Con panel where the show's creators and stars gathered to talk all about the new season and the impact the series' unique brand of televisual therapy has been having on viewers. For anyone who's unaware of Shrinking (which should be none of you — it's great!), the series follows Jimmy Laird (Segel), a grieving psychotherapist who decides to start telling his patients what he really thinks as he tries to figure out his own trauma and become a better father to his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell). And Jimmy's joined throughout his many trials and tribulations by mentor and colleague Paul Rhodes (Harrison Ford), co-worker Gaby (Jessica Williams), and a village's worth of friends, neighbours, and patients all going through their own struggles. It's feel-good and feel-sad telly that hits that dearly missed Ted Lasso sweet spot between comedy and drama.

We don't yet know when Shrinking S3 will be with us, or indeed who will be in it, but with the show's second season introducing several new characters into Jimmy's world as well as fleshing out the lives of those around him, there's clearly plenty of material here to work with going forwards. And, what's more, the cast — especially the absolutely riotous Harrison Ford — seem to be having a hell of a time making the show. And to that we say long may Shrinking continue to grow and grow — we're signed up and ready for our next block of sessions already!
