Over the last four years, an increasingly mind-blowing array of stars have walked through the doors of the Arconia to fill the suspect (or indeed victim) pool of Only Murders In The Building — from Paul Rudd, to Meryl Streep, to actual bloody Sting. And amid all the excitement of yesterday's Avengers: Doomsday cast unveiling, Disney+ and Hulu took the time to reveal the latest bona fide Hollywood great set to cross paths with Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short's amateur podcasting sleuths in the show's upcoming fifth season. Per Deadline's reporting, two-time Oscar winner and Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy star Renée Zellweger is making a beeline for Manhattan's Upper West Side to join the series' starry ranks.

News of Zellweger joining the show comes hot on the heels of a recent slew of exciting castings for Only Murders Season 5, which started production in New York just this week. In the last few weeks, we've seen another two-time Oscar winner, Christoph Waltz, check into the Arconia, as well as comedy titan Keegan-Michael Key and Bad Boys and Death Of A Unicorn star Téa Leoni. Now, as we've come to expect from John Hoffman and Steve Martin's murder-mystery series, who exactly Zellweger and co will be playing and how they'll factor into the plot is being kept strictly hush-hush for the time being, but we do know that the fifth season is set to see Charles (Martin), Mabel (Gomez), and Oliver (Short) tasked with solving the murder of *SPOILER ALERT* the Arconia's dear doorman Lester, who was found quite literally in a pool (well, fountain) of his own blood at the end of Season 4.

Having come along right at the start of the current, ongoing Murder Mysterenaissance (it'll catch on one of these days), the many-time Emmy nominated Only Murders In The Building finally got some richly deserved awards season gold at this year's SAG awards, scooping the gongs for Best Comedy Ensemble and, for lead Martin Short, Male Actor In A Comedy Series. And with Zellweger, Waltz, Key, and Leoni already aboard for the latest round of building-based murder investigations, it looks like we're in for another *ahem* killer series when Only Murders In The Building returns to our screens.
