In the past, Lee Child's gruff former military police investigator has reached the big screen in the shape of Tom Cruise. Now, though, Prime Video has Alan Ritchson in the role for a telly version, and fans of Reacher's hulking form are likely to be a tad happier with this version of the character, even if he does seem a little chattier than a man known for "Reacher says nothing". Check out the first teaser...
Adapted from Child's first Reacher novel Killing Floor by Prison Break veteran Nick Santora, this is very much in keeping with the books' portrayal of the central character. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years. The cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.
Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Hugh Thompson, Harvey Guillén and Bruce McGill are all in the cast for the show which, in an unusual turn from Prime Video's recent decision to go weekly with one of its biggest hits will drop as one first season block of eight episodes on 4 February next year. Set your mental alarm clocks now.
