If you've been patiently waiting for Season 3 of romance/societal status drama Bridgerton well, in the words of Ace Ventura, "just wait longer!" There's less patience required, though, for the first spin-off, prequel miniseries Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. A new teaser has landed, and you can check it out below…

Centered on Queen Charlotte's rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen's marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

India Amarteifio is Young Queen Charlotte, opposite Corey Mylchreest, who plays Young King George and Arsema Thomas as Young Lady Danbury. The connective tissue to the main show remains, though, as Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) all make an appearance in what we can assume are bookending scenes.

And what can we expect from the new show? More of the same, from the looks of this – opposites attracting, sexy times and disapproving elders.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will accept your invitations to view from 4 May on Netflix.
