Pilot TV Podcast 312

This week's double guest blessed episode of the Pilot TV podcast is one that we can all well and truly abide by — mostly because The Dude himself joins us on the show! That's right, following recent health concerns, Mr Jeff Bridges is back fighting fit and on top form in the newly dropped second season of The Old Man on Disney+, and he stopped by to chat about the show, about life these days, and about reflecting on one of the great Hollywood careers with our very own old man Boyd Hilton [27:27 — 41:14 approx]. And as if that wasn't enough Dudeliness for you, we're also joined this week by another fine dude in the form of Steve Zahn, who chats to our resident Silo nut James Dyer about Season 2 of Apple TV+'s smash hit sci-fi series [1:06:26 — 1:20:50 approx], which arrives on the streamer this week.

Back in the podbooth, James, Boyd, and Kay Ribeiro dive into a, well, let's just say timely listener question that has them discussing comfort watches to help navigate traumatic events (like, for example, the outcome of a major vote-based event or some such...) Then, over on a fairly quiet news front, where the team are all on their best non-election discussing behaviour, Harlan Coben's Missing You, Alan Carr's Changing Ends renewal, and the latest Stranger Things Season 5 update are all on the agenda. Finally, in the reviews section, Boyd and James head back into the Silo to see if its sophomore season lives up to its sparkling debut, before the team take a trip back to the Troubles for IRA drama Say Nothing on Disney+. And that is not all folks, no sirree, because in a real pod rarity, we actually review an *checks notes* an...ima...ti...on— an animation! But not just any animation, because Netflix’s Arcane is back, back, back — and even James is (very rightfully) excited about this one.
