Pilot TV Podcast: #294 Sunny, Spent, and The Turkish Detective

This week's Pilot TV Podcast starts on a sombre note as Kay and Boyd help James come to terms with the cancellation of another one of his favourite shows, Prime Video's timey-wimey sci-fi Outer Range. And so, in honour of the show's passing — and completely unrelated to the time-sensitive recording of an upcoming spoiler special that may or may not involve Rapman and his brilliant Netflix show Supacell — the team took a step into their own time-traveling hole and recorded this week's episode all out of sequence. As you can imagine, chaos ensues!

Still, amidst the anarchy and all-out-of-orderness of things, James, Kay, and Boyd manage to discuss both the British and American elections, the third episode of House Of The Dragon, and this week's all-important listener question: which classic shows would've benefitted from more series/episodes, and which could've done with fewer? Elsewhere, over in the reviews section, we take on Apple TV's noir-inflected, dark robot comedy-drama Sunny starring Rashida Jones, as well as two BBC2 shows: Michelle de Swarte's autofictive comedy drama Spent, and Istanbul set police procedural The Turkish Detective. There is also, listeners be warned, talk of a Pilot TV OnlyFans — perish the thought!
