It has been a relatively quiet period for Phoebe Waller-Bridge, at least in terms of shows or films she has created. She's been busy on the likes of Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny and John Krasinski's latest, Imaginary Friends. But the writer/actress is still hard at work developing other series, setting up an adaptation of Claudia Lux's novel Sign Here.
The book follows a man named Peyote Trip, who has a pretty good gig in the deals department on the fifth floor of Hell. Sure, none of the pens work, the coffee machine has been out of order for a century and the only drink on offer is Jägermeister, but it’s still Hell and after waiting a millennium, he comes up with a plan that might just change his life (and death) forever…
Lux will handle the actual writing on the show, while Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins will serve as executive producers to shepherd it, but not actually write on it.
The new series falls under a recent extension of Waller-Bridge's contract with Amazon for a further three years. She still has another, untitled series in the works for Prime Video and she remains credited on the Mr & Mrs Smith TV adaptation as a co-creator (though she'll no longer star with Donald Glover).
The Dial Of Destiny, meanwhile, will be out on 30 June.
