Netflix, even with its tightening budgets, continues to attract star names to its shows and movies. And director Susanne Bier, who moved her new miniseries The Perfect Couple to the streaming service after it was initially set up at US network Fox, has locked in some top talent for the show. Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor are all in negotiations.
Adapting Elin Hilderbrand eponymous 2018 novel, this is planned as a six-episode murder mystery following Nantucket native Celeste Otis, who on the Fourth of July, is about to marry the perfect man, who just so happens to be from the wealthiest family in the area. But when a body is discovered floating in the harbor on the morning of what was to be the wedding of the year, everyone at the party is suddenly a suspect…
Bier is executive producing and directing the series, which should be shooting this year.
