At a time when it seems like half the TV shows people really enjoy are ending, it's nice to be able to report about one putting its plans together for a new season. Loki has now landed Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead to direct the majority of its next season.
Of course, the pair – who have also worked on movies such as Synchronic and recent Netflix series Archive 81 – are not strangers to the halls of Marvel, as they worked on Moon Knight, directing much of the show alongside Mohamed Diab. Presumably they spent much of their time trying to help Oscar Isaac tell the difference between his waking life... and dreams.
Loki, which announced that a second season would be on the way during the end credits of the first, is shooting the new episodes this year. And while Michael Waldron ran the show for the initial season, writer Eric Martin, who was behind several episodes, will write all six (with Waldron and star Tom Hiddleston as executive producers).
Hiddleston will of course be back, and while Deadline reports that he's the only one,Owen Wilson has already said he's returning, and we can surely expect Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Gugu Mbatha-Rawto be back.
Moon Knight kicks off on Disney+ on 30 March. Find out more about it in the latest Empire, which is in all good and evil UK newsagents right now.
