With Loki reaching its endgame next Wednesday, you might have been wondering when we'll see the next iteration of Marvel's Cinematic Universe on TV. The studio has given a resounding answer to that question thanks to the new full trailer for animated series What If...? So get ready for Captain Carter, T'Challa as Star Lord, a heroic(?) Killmonger and more with a universe of other possibilities.
Overseen and linked by Jeffrey Wright's The Watcher, What If...? feels like the perfect series to follow Loki, as it leans into the multiverse of variants presented by Marvel's output. We'll find new spins on a host of familiar characters, including zombiefied versions of Captain America, Peggy Carter becoming a supersoldier (and Steve Rogers using a World War II version of the Iron Man suit designed here by Howard Stark).
Elsewhere (and elsewhen), emotions will be high thanks to the late Chadwick Boseman providing the vocals for T'Challa, who ends up snatched into space in place of Peter Quill and runs with the Ravagers/Guardians.
A whole host of Marvel veterans stepped into the recording booth for the show, with chief writing duties from AC Bradley and Bryan Andrews as its main director. And now we know when the show will premiere on Disney+: Wednesday, 11 August. Anyone got a TemPad so we can watch it now?
