Following on from the teaser for The Mandalorian's third season that was released during Disney's D23 event last September, the full trailer has now landed ahead of the show's return in less than a couple of months. Take a look:
Expanding on the themes that the teaser hinted at, the new footage includes Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and little green charge Grogu preparing to make the trip to Mandalore, where our hero plans to make amends for his "transgressions", namely showing his face to people, in contravention of his cadre of the Mandalorians is supposed to behave. But we also know that Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan Kryze has her own reasons to hold a grudge against him.
But while there is also the contractually obligated sweetness between Mando and Grogu (on the agenda this time, teaching the kid the ways of navigating the galaxy), we can see that the lurking threat of leftover imperial forces still remains (and while he was vanquished, Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon is still out there). As the (very basic) official synopsis suggests, "The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together." And it certainly looks like we can expect more Jedi appearances, in what appears to be an Order 66 flashback...
Behind the camera this time is a mix of returning veterans such as Rick Famuyiwa (who also steps up as an executive producer here, alongside Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni), Bryce Dallas Howard, and Carl "Greef Karga" Weathers, while Black Panther cinematographer Rachel Morrison, Minari filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung, and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’s Peter Ramsey will all tackle at least one episode.
The Mandalorian will be back for Season 3 on Disney+ 1 March.
