With the series itself not due on our screens until later in the year, Prime Videos' mammoth Lord Of The Rings-based adaptation The Rings Of Power is keeping up the drip feed of information releases. The latest drop is the names of two of the main characters, along with images... So please meet Theo and Bronwyn.

No other details were given about the characters who what their part in the sprawling story will be, but we do know that Theo is played by Tyroe Muhafidin, who is a relative newcomer to screens, while Bronwyn is Nazanin Boniadi, who has been in plenty of films and shows, including Homeland and Bombshell.

The series is set thousands of years before the events of The Lord Of The Rings films and The Hobbit trilogy – so that means no Baggins’, Samwise Gamgee, and no Gandalf. And, as the title treatment suggests, this isn't directly connected to Peter Jackson's films. But Morfydd Clark is a younger version Galadriel – and stars in the cast alongside the likes of Robert Aramayo, Lenny Henry, and Peter Mullan.

And for your synopsis needs... "The Rings of Power unites all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. Until now, audiences have only seen on-screen the story of the One Ring – but before there was one, there were many..."

The Rings Of Power will launch on 2 September.
