When Lily James was cast as Pamela Anderson for Pam & Tommy, a new limited series telling the story of her and Tommy Lee’s whirlwind marriage and release of their sex tape, people wondered about how she might embody the Baywatch icon. Then, the first look at her and Sebastian Stan as Lee were released, and the internet’s jaw collectively dropped – turns out, the pair are more than convincing as the infamous duo. Now, a trailer for the show has been released, giving us a proper look at the pair and the rest of the cast in action. Watch it here:

If those make-up effects were impressive in still images, they’re mind-blowing in motion too – James and Stan looking impressively authentic as the model/actor and Mötley Crüe drummer, respectively. The eight-episode series will show the relationship between the couple, who got married in 1995, less than a week after they met. The tape was made during their honeymoon, and stolen from their home by Rand Gauthier, played here by Seth Rogen. Anderson and Lee sued the distributor after the footage was shared online, and a lengthy legal battle followed.

The supporting cast includes Taylor Schilling, Nick Offerman and Andrew Dice Clay, and several episodes are being directed by Craig Gillespie, who previously worked with Stan on Margot Robbie’s Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya.

The series premieres on Hulu in the US on 2 February next year – and while a UK release hasn’t been confirmed yet, it seems likely to stream on Star on Disney+ over here.
