Dearest gentle reader… have you missed the glossy, glamorous, gossip-filled world of Bridgerton? Do you long to promenade around the park with a dashing Duke? Has it simply been too long since you heard a cover version of an Ariana Grande song on a string quartet? You’re in luck – Netflix’s hit Shondaland show is back with a second season next month, and the first teaser trailer just dropped. Take a look below:

Bridgerton’s first season caused a stir during Christmas 2020, with its opulent setting, addictive nature and steamy scenes making it a word-of-mouth hit, setting Regé-Jean Page (who doesn’t return here) up for superstardom, and bagging it the title of Netflix’s most-watched show ever at the time. With the exception of Page, the gang’s all back – including Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope (and, as revealed in the previous series finale, gossip-monger herself Lady Whistledown), and Jonathan Bailey as this season’s leading Bridgerton sibling Anthony. New to the ton is the Sharma family, headed up by Sex Education star Simone Ashley – she plays Kate, new leading lady and love interest for Anthony.

With glimpses of extravagant ballrooms, a trip to Ascot, and the Julie Andrews-voiced Whistledown narrator saying she’s been “sharpening her knives”, Bridgerton looks like it has even more scandalous secrets to reveal this time around. We’ll find out when it arrives on Netflix on 25 March 2022.
