It’s One Last Fight For Nick Fury In The New Secret Invasion Trailer

Secret Invasion

Now that we know the next Marvel/Disney+ series, the Nick Fury-led Secret Invasion, is officially headed our way in June, team MCU naturally wants to keep that in our brains. So the new trailer has landed.

Following up on the events of not just Captain Marvel, but Fury's other appearances (such as the end credits sting of Spider-Man: Far From Home) Secret Invasion finds Samuel L. Jackson's badass back on Earth for the first time in "a while". And there's a reason he's been summoned home, with trouble afoot from a sect of the Skrull race he met in Marvel.

Ben Mendelsohn's Talos alerts him to a faction that is looking to take what was promised to the Skrulls by humanity by duplicity or by force. Led by Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), the new faction also boasts someone close to Talos (a character we won't spoil here, played by Emilia Clarke).

Addressing – for once — the big question about why Fury doesn't immediately get in touch with his Avenging pals (at least what's left of the team, or possibly the younger ones still finding their footing) — the trailer has him make clear this is one war he'll wage alone… Well, if you don't count Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), Talos, and even a new character, Olivia Colman's British intelligence bigwig, who may or may not be on his side anyway…
