Though there's a question as to whether we need another story of aliens causing trouble for humanity, Apple TV+'s new sci-fi series Invasion does at least have multiple perspectives as opposed to the usual US (or UK-centric) viewpoint. Oh, and Sam Neill musing, which is never a bad thing. The teaser is now online.
Invasion follows what happens when mysterious signs of alien influence – crop and other circles, unexpected nosebleeds in random people presages something dangerous arriving from space. The teaser keeps things mostly grounded (aside from a shuttle under attack) and there's not much to go on yet as to what the new arrivals might want (or even what they truly look like).
Simon Kinberg, who is more normally found writing or producing (or both) the likes of Fox's X-Men movies and The Martian is behind the new show, alongside Hunters David Weil, while The Fall's Jakob Verbruggen directed several episodes.
Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Firas Nassar and Shioli Kutsuna also star in the series, which kicks off on Apple TV+ on 22 October with the first three episodes, followed by a new episode each Friday.
