Oh, those pesky extra-terrestrials. Occasionally you meet a nice one – Starman, ET – but for the most part it appears that whenever aliens arrive on Earth for a movie or TV series, trouble is not far behind. From the looks of Apple TV+'s Invasion, that's what's happening once again. Check out the latest trailer.

Invasion follows what happens when mysterious signs of alien influence – crop and other circles, unexpected nosebleeds in random people presages something dangerous arriving from space. Following on from the teaser, this new look still keeps things mostly grounded (aside from a shuttle under attack) and there's not much to go on yet as to what the new arrivals might want (or even what they truly look like).

Simon Kinberg, who wrote or produced (or both) the likes of Fox's X-Men movies and The Martian is behind the new show, alongside Hunters' David Weil, while Amanda Marsalis, Jamie Payne and Jakob Verbruggen are on directing duty.

Sam Neill, Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Firas Nassar and Shioli Kutsuna star in the series, which kicks off on Apple TV+ on 22 October with the first three episodes, followed by a new episode each Friday.
