With the show's production close to starting, Star Wars: Ahsoka has its first director in place. And it's someone we're thrilled to see get another good gig – Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse's Peter Ramsey will make at least one episode.

Ahsoka, which will follow the continuing adventures of Rosario Dawson's Jedi warrior, is keeping its plot quiet, but seems likely to see the character tracking down the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Ahsoka as a character first saw her stories told in animated form as part of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and has shown up on both The Mandalorian and The Book Of Boba Fett.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno and Natasha Liu Bordizzo are all in the cast for the show, along with Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker (Ahsoka's Jedi mentor) and Ray Stevenson playing a mystery villain.

Star Wars live-action overseer Dave Filoni is behind the new series, working as ever alongside Jon Favreau. As for Ramsey, he has two live-action movies in development – vampire tale Blood Count and Blues biopic Love In Vain.
