Harrison Ford appears to have gotten the TV bug big time. Hot on the heels of him joining Apple TV+ series Shrinking, he's taking a role in the next Yellowstone prequel series 1932. And he's not alone – Helen Mirren, who unlike Ford is no stranger to the small screen, is also on board.
Created by Yellowstone overseer Taylor Sheridan, this latest expansion of the franchise follows the Dutton family in the titular year, a time of Prohibition, the Great Depression, and westward expansion.
1932 serves as a followup to 1883, which told the story of the Dutton family as they made their way to Montana to found what would become the Yellowstone Ranch in the original show, which is set in the present day.
Yellowstone has a history of attracting big names: the main series is anchored by Kevin Costner, while Sam Elliott is a big part of 1883.
This latest show will arrive in December via streaming service Paramount+, which launches in the UK next month.
