The Geeked Week reveals keep coming, including the exciting first teaser for Guillermo del Toro's latest Netflix endeavour, anthology horror series Cabinet Of Curiosities. Though it's mostly reminding us of the esteemed talent who worked on this one, it's still worth watching...
While you can't imagine del Toro squeezing one more project on to his to-do list, this sees him curating what is described as "a macabre mashup of genre-defining horror”, or to put it more prosaically, a series of eight different terrifying tales with directors and stars hand-picked by the man himself.
One episode will be directed by The Babadook director Jennifer Kent, teaming her back up with that film’s incredible star Essie Davis, as well as Andrew Lincoln and Hannah Galway – with an original story penned by del Toro himself. There’s also going to be an episode directed by Mandy’s Panos Cosmatos, one by Twilight filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke, and another by A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night director Ana Lily Amirpour.
It’s a very exciting line-up – which also includes episodes from David Prior, Guillermo Navarro, Keith Thomas and Vincenzo Natali, with confirmed stars including Rupert Grint, F. Murray Abraham, Tim Blake Nelson, Crispin Glover, Ben Barnes and Peter Weller.
But keeping up the teasing side, Netflix has yet to announce when this one will air, beyond in the coming months...
