Though the attempt to make a new cinematic incarnation of Masters Of The Universe keeps being foiled like one of Skeletor's schemes, on the small screen at least, Kevin Smith has been able to wrangle an animated show that will continue the story of the 1980s series. We've already had some imagery ,but here comes the teaser as part of Netflix's Geeked Week...
The official synopsis for the show runs thus: "After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe."
Smith has an impressive cast lending their tonsil talents to the series, including Chris Wood (Prince Adam/He-Man), Mark Hamill (Skeletor), Lena Headey (Evil-Lyn), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Teela), Stephen Root (Cringer), Tony Todd (Scare Glow) and Kevin Conroy (Mer-Man). Part 1 (the first five episodes) will launch on Netflix on 23 July.
