Though there has been plenty of chatter of late about how James "Bucky" Barnes himself, Sebastian Stan, could play a young Luke Skywalker, it turns out he also – with the help of some styling, bling and fake tattoos – can do a good impression of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. And Lily James, as it happens, can manage to look like Baywatch's Pamela Anderson. Which is helpful, since they're starring in new US TV miniseries Pam And Tommy.
The comedy drama will focus on the release of the world's first true viral video – the sex tape featuring the pair.
I, Tonya's Craig Gillespie is directing the show, working from a script written by Rob Siegel. Seth Rogen produces and plays Rand Gauthier, who stole the tape in the first place. While the scandalous event will play a major part in the series, the story will have a big focus on their relationship going back to their whirlwind romance that started with them marrying after only knowing each other for 96 hours in 1995.
The leaked VHS tape turned into quite the legal dispute, with Anderson suing the video distribution company Internet Entertainment Group. Ultimately, the Lees entered into a confidential settlement deal with IEG. Thereafter, the company began making the tape available to subscribers to its websites again, resulting in triple the normal traffic.
Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling and Andrew Dice Clay are all in the cast for this one, which will head to US streaming service Hulu, meaning it'll likely pop up on Disney+'s Star section in the UK.
