The signs and portents were already building, what with Vincent D'Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin on Hawkeye and Charlie Cox once more gracing screens – cinema screens, no less – as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now, according to Variety, Marvel and Disney+ are moving ahead with a new Daredevil series.

While Marvel is – naturally – saying nothing, that is the company's standard policy when series and movies are in development. The trade magazine's sources, though, report that Covert Affairs co-creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord are on board to head the writing team and executive produce the new show.

There's no word in the story as to Cox and D'Onofrio returning for the new show, but come on... the outcry if they're not both announced as soon as this thing becomes official would be deafening, especially given the tantalising hints already dropped.

With the Netflix deal recently ended and the various Marvel TV series landing on Disney+ this year, the road was much clearer. Looks like the Man Without Fear will be cleaning up Hell's Kitchen once more.

Next up in terms of Marvel Disney+ series is Ms. Marvel, which debuts on 8 June, followed by She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, which put out its first full trailer this week, and lands on 17 August.
