It's been almost a year since Cobra Kai's third season hit our screens. So naturally, we're craving more of the karate action and banter between Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). Season 4 is but a few weeks away and the full trailer is online.
If you've caught up with the previous season (vague spoiler alert if not), you'll know that Johnny and Daniel were finally able to shelve their longstanding grudge and unite their dojos – Eagle Fang for Johnny, Miyagi-Do for Daniel – to face a real threat from John Kreese (Martin Kove) and his resurgent Cobra Kai dojo. And they'll certainly need to work together, because as the trailer shows, Kreese is bringing in his old mucker Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) to help train his students ready for the next All-Valley karate tournament.
But of course, you just know that Daniel and Johnny won't completely be able to put aside the bad blood that bubbles between them, while orbiting around them are the various students they've taken under their wings, including Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Daniel's daughter Samantha (Mary Mouser) and Johnny's estranged son Robby (Tanner Buchanan), who is entrenched with Kreese and Cobra Kai.
Though Cobra Kai has long mined the 1980s movie franchise for its stories, going back to maligned threequel The Karate Kid Part III would seem a risky prospect. But this show has always displayed an ability to turn elements from the original films into gold, and we're hopeful that continues here. Cobra Kai Season 4 hits Netflix on 31 December. Meanwhile, why not check out where Season 3 landed on our Best TV Shows Of 2021 list...
