It's always good to see Cobie Smulders back in the MCU, as the sarcastic, often ass-kicking Maria Hill rarely gets enough to do in the movies. Hopefully she'll have more of a chance to shine on the small screen, as Smulders will return for Secret Invasion.

The Disney+ series will follow on from Captain Marvel and, to a lesser extent, Spider-Man: Far From Home as Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn's Skrull Talos confront a fraction of the latter's shapeshifting people who have been infiltrating Earth for years with malicious intent.

Smulders joins an already stacked cast which includes Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Christopher McDonald and Killian Scott.

Kyle Bradstreet's in the head writer's chair, while Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim are directing episodes. Secret Invasion is already shooting and should be on screens next year.
