Last year, big screen icon Arnold Schwarzenegger made his small screen debut, starring as stogie-smoking CIA operative Luke Brunner in Netflix's action-comedy FUBAR. With millions of viewers tuning in to see the streamer's Chief Action Officer in, er, action, a second season was greenlit within weeks. And with production already underway on Brunner's return, we now know who Luke and spook daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) will be facing this time around — and folks, they're going to have their work cut out for them. None other than The Matrix's Trinity herself, Carrie-Anne Moss, has joined the cast of FUBAR S2.
As THR reports, action veteran Moss is set to play Luke's former adversary — and former lover — Greta Nelso in the second season. An ex-East German spy who shares "a passionate history" with our man Luke, Greta will represent a new kind of challenge for Arnie's hero, who not only has to stop his old flame from destroying the world, but also from destroying his life. If the first season taught us anything, it's that families are complicated (Luke didn't know his daughter was a spy too, and only found out whilst on a mission to save her — it was a whole thing). And now, with Carrie-Anne Moss rocking up on the scene and the Brunners' identity being compromised after S1's explosive finale, things will only get trickier for the Austrian Oak.
Moss — who will next be seen flexing her Force-Fu stuff in buzzy new Star Wars series The Acolyte — joins returning FUBAR regulars Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Barbara Eve Harris, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley and Jay Baruchel in the cast for S2. We don't have any confirmation yet as to when the second series will be hitting our screens, but with shooting underway already and Schwarzenegger recovering well after recent open-heart surgery, fans can rest assured that Arnie will be back... soon.
