With Star Wars Celebration in full swing, there is naturally plenty of news being broadcast from that galaxy far, far away. One of the most exciting nuggets is the release of the first teaser trailer for Disney+ series Andor, which takes place five years before the events of Rogue One. Check it out...

With bells clanging and a soundtrack that has a distinct Hans Zimmer feel to it (though the actual composer is Succession's Nicholas Britell). And the action spans all sorts of planets (yes, we're away from Tatooine), while the feel is very much classic Star Wars.

Diego Luna - who made the Celebration crowd laugh with his admission that he's glad he'll survive the series – plays the titular Rebel agent, though the show will explore his life before we meet him in Rogue One.

Andor is planned as a two-season series, with the 12 episodes of Season 1 spanning a year and Season 2's 12 covering the other four. The final scene of the series, according to Tony Gilroy, walks you into the events of Rogue One.

Gilroy – who famously helped shape Rogue One into its final form — is in charge of the writing side here, with Toby Haynes, Ben Caro Susanna White and Benjamin Caron on directing duties.
