Back in July, we brought you the news that filming had wrapped on Noah Hawley's Alien prequel series Alien: Earth. Now, after select fans were lucky enough to catch a glimpse at what the Fargo creator's been cooking up with his take on the legendary sci-fi franchise at Alien: Romulus screenings stateside, FX have dropped a sneak peek — and we mean peek — at the show alongside a new plot synopsis. Check out the teaser below:

Xenomorph? Check. Acid saliva? Check. Reflection of the Earth in the perfect organism's somewhat chromed dome? Well, that's certainly new territory for the franchise whose tagline is "In space no one can hear you scream." We've known for some time that Hawley's series is an Earth-set prequel, but even so, there's something about a visual of the xeno heading for terra firma that's very creepy. And here's the no-less-ominous official logline for the show: "When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat." Among said ragtag group? A veritable who's who of talent, including Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, and more.

Now, we don't know exactly when Alien: Earth is set just yet, though early indications are that it's set to swerve Sir Ridley Scott's own prequels Prometheus and Alien: Covenant — and their Engineer xeno origin tale — in favour of a fresh take on the acidic extraterrestrial terrors. We also don't know exactly when the show's going to hit our screens beyond a vague 2025. But after Fede Alvarez's recent face hugger fest, you can bet we can't wait to cower in terror from this one when it does show up. We don't know about Chandler and co, but you'll definitely be able to hear us scream.
