If Baz Luhrmann’s rhinestone-encrusted Elvis left you feeling All Shook Up last year, its sombre ending just about ready to have you checking in to Heartbreak Hotel, then That’s Alright (Alright, Alright) Mama. “Why?”, we hear you cry! Well, because Netflix has just released the first trailer for upcoming adult animation offering Agent Elvis, which stars Matthew McConaughey as a version of the King of Rock’n’Roll you’ve definitely never seen before. Check out the trailer below:

Yep, in Agent Elvis, Presley isn’t just the ‘Hound Dog’ crooner – he’s also a super spy for the American government, as quick with a John Wick-worthy pencil takedown as a shake of the hips. And just for proof you’re not hallucinating, here’s the show’s batshit official logline: “Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves – all while holding down his day job as the King of Rock and Roll.” So this Elvis is A Little Less Conversation, a little more action.

Co-created by Priscilla Presley and John Eddie, Agent Elvis is the first adult animation project from Into The Spider-Verse studio Sony Pictures Animation, and has been made in collaboration with Authentic Brands Group as well as Titmouse, the team behind Prime Video’s fantasy series The Legend of Vox Machina. And as if that isn’t enough, Oscar-nominated Love, Death & Robots animator Robert Valley is aboard for the alt-history shenanigans too, rounding out a creative team you Can’t Help Falling In Love with.

Even though Suspicious Minds tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to adult animation, when this hits Netflix in March we’ll get a golden chance to see Elvis as the superhero he always wished he could be as a child. And for that we say thank you… thank you very much.
